A SECOND CHANCE AT LIFE AFTER INCARCERATION

About Us

Our Mission Statement

I was born and raised in Southeastern Oklahoma graduating from High School in 1972. I spent two years in the military and after being discharged I was employed by the Department of Defense for seven years prior to transferring to the Department of Justice, Federal Bureau of Prisons in 1983, and after serving twenty two years in various positions I retired January 3, 2006.

One afternoon my wife and I was sitting around discussing life in general when a voice spoke to me and encouraged me to develop a website to assist ex-offenders once they are released from prison. I know it was God who spoke to me but I had no ideal how I was going to design a website, but after consulting with several family members the ideal became a reality.

This website was developed to provide assistance to ex-offenders once they are released from imprisonment. It is my hope everyone who visit this site will support its cause by giving an ex-offender the opportunity to transition back into society. By providing the necessary employment information, you will be assisting an offender in obtaining a second chance in life. According to statistics there are approximately 201,007 federal inmate offenders, incarcerated at the present time; also, statistics taken from ten prisons in the State of Nevada indicate there are approximately 12,800 offenders. As you can see the numbers are very high and are likely to rise if something isn’t done to reduce crime rate in general. One very successful way is to provide employment. One sure way to almost ensure failure is for an ex-con to not be working. We all need income and a sense of accomplishment.

The numbers reflected by Nevada only are only a fraction of the whole country state by state. It is a statistical fact that if nothing is done to assist individuals being released from prison to find work immediately then the recidivism rate will continue to sky rocketed. Many individuals will become part of the homeless population that is already plaguing our streets.

Based on the current economic tragedy we are now facing the level of crime could increase from day to day. We constantly hear of individuals going on shooting sprees killing everyone in their immediate family or gunning down innocent bystanders for no reason at all. I am doing this because I have seen the personal struggles individuals have gone through first hand. Having worked in the system for over twenty two years, I have seen time and time again that if no one would hire them upon release individuals would end up returning to prison.

From my own personal experience involving a family member a second chance really does work. For many it gives a fresh start at life again. Unfortunately there are a lot of positions an ex-offender can’t qualify for since he or she is classified as a convicted felon. So please do the right thing and say you will give an ex-offender a second chance at life. Believe it or not anyone of us could find ourselves on the opposite side of the law at any given time and will need the same assistance. If not you then perhaps a difficulty could affect a family member.

This site is privately owned and currently not receiving any revenue for the time and effort that has gone into developing it. But if this website helps one individual achieve a second chance at life then it will have been well worth the time, effort and finances it has taken in putting it together. I do know that if nothing is done we will continue to see an influx of individuals seeking assistance from welfare, unemployment compensation, and collecting food stamps just to make ends meet. We will see the process causing things to spiral out of control from state to state. I would encourage every employer to agree to assist ex-offender gain employment once they are released from prison. By doing so it will cause a decrease in crime and the number of individuals receiving government assistance therefore making this program a success.
